Children overjoyed to receive royal message

NURSERY children were overjoyed to receive a letter from the Queen.

Youngsters at The Chase Nursery in Holland-on-sea were sent a thank you card from the Queen last week.

The children created pictures and portraits of the Queen as part of Diamond Jubilee celebrations back in June.

They sent them off to Buckingham Palace and have now received a card of thanks.

Tracey Green from the nursery said: “I don’t think any of us were expecting to get anything back, so it was a really lovely surprise.

“The card is really nice and the children were all so excited to see it. We have had all the parents coming in to have a look too.

“We are going to get the letter laminated and keep it on show so everyone gets a chance to look at it.”
