Paralympic star Zoe Newson visits Clacton school

A SCHOOL was visited by a Paralympic power lifter in a bid to inspire its students.

Great Britain star Zoe Newson came to Cann Hall Primary School last week to share her Paralympic experience with pupils.

The 20 year-old clinched a bronze medal at the London Games in the summer by lifting 88kg, equalling her personal best.

Zoe visited the Clacton school to appear in assembly, talk to pupils and sign autographs.

Colin Edwards from Cann Hall said: “Part of the reason for her visit was to pick up on the Olympic theme of inspiring a generation.

“We wanted to get someone in to help inspire the pupils, but we didn’t think in our wildest dreams we would be able to get a star like Zoe.

“We were absolutely thrilled and everyone was a bit star struck while she was here.

“She was really good and the children absolutely loved her."
