A SCHOOLGIRL has been left heartbroken after cruel thieves stole her pet ferrets.

Shania McGregor, 12, has had Rascal, Scooter and Buttercup since they were babies.

The Clacton Coastal Academy pupil is devastated at losing her much-loved pets.

"I miss them very much and would love to have them back," she said.

"I am sure my ferrets miss me as well as they love me as much as I love them."

Mum Saffron said: "Shania is heartbroken.

"She's had them since they were babies. They were lovely pets and would fall asleep on her knee."

The theft has been reported to the police.

The family is also offering a reward for information. Anyone who can help should call Saffron on 07583 275319.
