Chairman challenges brainboxes to festive quiz
9:09am Wednesday 24th October 2012 in News By James Dwan
BRAINBOXES are being urged to get their thinking caps on to raise cash for two worthy causes.
Tendring Council’s annual chairman’s quiz will take place at Clacton Town Hall’s Princes Theatre next month.
Quizmaster Adrian Robinson, from Clacton Lions, will once again be putting the questions.
Chairman Danny Mayzes said he is hoping for a bumper turnout for the festive event.
“This is an evening I am really looking forward to and hopefully there will be some friendly rivalry going on,” he said.
“I will be putting a team in myself and I challenge others from the council to also get a team together.
“It is your chance to come along and take us on, have some fun and raise money for my charities.”
All monies raised will go to the Tendring SOS Bus and Chicks - a national children's charity, which provides respite breaks to children with disadvantaged backgrounds.
Mr Mayzes said he is keen for it to be a festive event and teams are invited to dress their table and themselves with a Christmas theme and bring along a Christmas picnic to keep them going during the quiz.
The quiz takes place on Friday, November 30, from 8pm and costs £3 per person with teams of four to six people.
Tables can be booked by contacting Sarah Creelman on 01255 686907 or by emailing her at screelman@tendringdc.gov.uk.
