Claire Hope Ferreira Much loved Frinton resident Claire Ferreira died on 8th February 2024 after a long illness. Claire, whose father Paul Mears owned the Red Lion Pub in Kirby le Soken in the late 1950's, attended Hawthorne's, the former school in Frinton on Sea. Claire moved to London in 1955, and later married William (Bill) Ferreira at the Church in Kirby le Soken. The couple moved to Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia) in 1960, returning to Frinton in 1992. On their return both Claire and Bill became active in Frinton life, joining the Heritage society, the Horticultural society where Claire became secretary in 1994, Frinton in Bloom and Probus where Claire served as President for 2 years. Claire is survived by Bill, her sons Seymour and David, and her Grandsons, Will, Tomas, Max and Ted. Private cremation family flowers only, donations if desired to St Helena Hospice Clacton and St Raphael's Hospice Cheam. A celebration of Claire's life will be held at a later date.
