Boy Better Know shutdown Wireless Festival this afternoon, it’s official.

Skepta, JME, Jammer, DJ Maximum and co were at the Finsbury Park festival, and alongside Drake they were the act a lot of people had been dreaming to see.

Although perhaps not everyone knows they’re a grime collective, and not one oddly named person.

Here’s why they were great.

1. They brought out Giggs

Giggs and JME performed their single Man Don’t Care off JME’s album Integrity. No doubt the speakers almost blew when Giggs got on the microphone with that uniquely deep voice.

And any injuries caused were apologised for after the fact.

2. Meridian Dan was there, so obviously German Whip got played

3. Because people had fun remixing their lyrics

4. Because no nans were harmed in the making of this festival

5. Because they brought that same infectious energy they take everywhere

6. Because there’s not many acts at Wireless that can start a mosh pit

7. In fact, there’s not many acts like BBK. If any

They’ve forged their way far enough into the mainstream to be a big act at festivals like Wireless, while never straying from their grimey routes. Sure, there’s tons of talented grime artists out there, but are there many that can capture the minds of audiences not so partial to grime?

8. And because now they’re bound to be given a slot on the main stage next year

Overall, it was a positive experience for everyone involved.

Except those of us unfortunate enough to be anywhere that wasn’t Finsbury Park.
