A LEADING actress is taking a break from her busy touring schedule to show budding performers the ropes in her hometown.

Rebecca Hyde is currently starring in Chain Reaction theatre company's production of Totally Together - an educational play with an anti-bullying message.

But she has found time to return to Clacton this Sunday***NOV26*** to present a Shakespeare workshop for aspiring actors at the Princes Theatre.

RADA-trained Rebecca hopes it could help pave the way for careers in the industry.

“Shakespeare can be daunting and student actors have to study his work extensively at drama school and perform two pieces for drama school entry,” she said.

“We will be building confidence and proving that Shakespeare can be fun, exploring text through soundscapes and experimenting through physical movement and voice.”

Rebecca has played some of Shakespeare's most iconic female roles such as Lady Macbeth and Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

There will be two sessions - a junior workshop for ten to 13-year-olds and one for older teenagers.

Registration at the theatre on Sunday is at 10am and the day runs from 10.30am to 4pm.

Tickets are £53. For more information call Melissa Wenn on 01255 430809 or visit princestheatre.co.uk.
