A GARDEN for all seasons shows off its winter splendour this weekend.

Green Island Gardens at Ardleigh opens for the year on Sunday***7***.

Professionally designed by its owner Fiona Edmond the 20 acre triangular piece of land includes mature woodland and a series of structured gardens reflecting the seaside and Japan and using gravel, water and woodland as their themes.

The plantsman’s paradise with unsual trees, perennials, shrubs and bulbs is full of colour all year round with winter showing off its snowdrops, cyclamen and inter flowerring shrubs like hamamelis, daphnes, viburnums and chimonanthus.

The garden also includes a plant nursery and tea room which will be open Tuesdays to Thursdays and then Sundays from 10am-5pm.
