Name: Julie Eastman
Newspaper Sales Department
Job Title: Customer Service Advisor

I began working for Newsquest in August 1986, first as a Personal Assistant to the Newspaper Sales Manager, before changing jobs, undertaking several administrative positions, including the preparation of wages for our delivery agents which I enjoyed, and most recently my current role in the Customer Services unit of the Newspaper Sales Department. I loved the thought of working for a local Newspaper and actually got my job by purchasing the Echo.

A typical work day entails the entering of new orders, processing of payments and operating an extremely fast-paced phone service, dealing with a whole range of issues. I have been on a number of courses since joining Newsquest to further develop my customer service skills including Customer Care training, Conflict resolution, Data protection, Time management and team building exercises. I enjoy most aspects of my job, but most of all the variety of work. I also love speaking to the public and from time to time, I also take part in some Canvassing, which I also thoroughly enjoy!
