RECKLESS drivers have been veering onto the pavement to use a cash machine as a drive-through bank.
Some drivers have been spotted bumping their cars up onto the High Street pavement by Walton’s Tesco Express.
They pull up alongside the cash point set into the wall and use the machine through their car windows, before driving away.
Several concerned residents have reported the problem to local councillors, who have branded the actions of the offending drivers “stupid and reckless”.
Walton councillor John Halls said: “I haven’t seen it happen but to hear of this going on is absolutely ridiculous.”
“Anyone doing this is being stupid and very reckless.
Police in Walton say they have received complaints of drivers abusing the area in the past, but have not had any recent reports.
Officers say they will investigate and take action if they catch the culprits.
