FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle an early-morning bungalow blaze in Jaywick.

The fire broke out at the Swift Avenue home just before 6.30am this morning.

Two crews from Clacton were sent to the scene and found the property 20 per cent alight and completely smoke logged.

Firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze by about 7.30am and stayed at the site to check for hotspots using a thermal imaging camera.

The cause of the fire is not yet known. A joint investigation will be carried out by the police and fire service.
