CLACTON students filled the stands at Colchester United’s stadium as part of a special exam preparation day.

The pupils from Clacton County High School took part in the event at Weston Homes Community Stadium to boost their maths and English skills.

It was part of a course to help students from local schools prepare for their GCSEs.

Pupils took on challenges in activity room within the stadium, as well as sitting out in the stands for some parts of the course.

They were even played inspirational videos across the stadium’s big screens.

The Clacton students were joined by classes from schools in Dovercourt, Manningtree and Colchester, with more than 200 taking part overall.

Clacton County High School principal Jeff brindle said: “It was a fantastic event for our staff and students.

“To spend time at a great community venue like Colchester United has allowed our students to really focus their attention on this important exam preparation.”
