A TEENAGER was robbed of his bicycle as he cycled home across a playing field in Clacton.

The 13-year-old was surrounded by four youths during the incident, which happened at the playing fields at Rush Green Road.

Investigating officer Det Con Claire Strachan said they kicked the back of his bike, causing him to fall to the ground.

They then stole the bike, which is described as a black and white ‘Big Daddy’ BMX with black plastic wheels.

"This must have been a very distressing ordeal for the boy involved, who was simply trying to cycle home,” said Det Con Strachan.

“I really need to speak to anyone who may have seen these boys in the area of the playing fields on Saturday afternoon.”

The suspects were boys aged 15 to 17, white, and were wearing hooded tops and tracksuits.

The incident happened at about 4.30pm on Saturday.

Anyone with information is asked to call Det Con Strachan at Clacton CID on 101.
