A CHORAL society dazzled its Clacton crowd with a seasonal show full of Christmas classics.
The carol concert was organised by Clacton Choral Society at St Paul’s Church on Saturday.
A large audience enjoyed a selection of carols chosen with choir members, who introduced their chosen tunes with some history about each song.
The show included choir leader Gilli Dulieu’s modern imagining of Away in a Manger, and a velvety rendition of Born in the Night by tenor Zachary Kleanthous.
Paul Siddall and Francesca and Imogen Dulieu also lit up the show with impressive instrumental pieces.
Society spokesman John Kedge said: “It was a wonderful afternoon of seasonal music with some really astonishing performances.
“The audience appreciated the music and even joined in with some of the singing.”
The occasion also marked the last Clacton Choral Society show for long-standing member John Colyer, who has been a part of the group for 31 years.
Described as a rock of the club and a true gentleman, 91- year-old John is moving to a retirement complex in Ipswich with his wife.
